Last week two South Sudanese refugees, Adelaide United and Australian under-20 player Awer Mabil and brother Awer Bul, returned to the scorching heat at Kakuma Refugee Camp in north-western Kenya where both once lived.
Fellow United player Osama Malik, of North Sudanese descent, former diplomat Rachael West and I joined them as part of a project we have all created called Barefoot To Boots.
